Abamectin 1.9% EC is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide with contact and stomach action, effective against mites, leaf miners, and various insect pests.

Composition and Formulation

Abamectin 1.9% EC contains 1.9% active ingredient abamectin in an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulation, which allows easy mixing with water and foliar application on crops  It belongs to the avermectin group of chemicals and is derived from natural sources, making it relatively safe for mammals

Mode of Action

Abamectin works as a nerve poison by disrupting the nervous system of pests. It binds to chloride channels in nerve and muscle cells, amplifying glutamate and activating the GABA system, which inhibits nerve-to-nerve and nerve-to-muscle communication. This leads to paralysis, cessation of feeding, and death of the pest  It exhibits translaminar activity, meaning it penetrates plant tissues to control pests even in hard-to-reach area

Abamectin 1.9% EC is effective against a wide range of pests, including:

• Mites: red mites, yellow mites, spider mites
• Insects: aphids, whiteflies, jassids, thrips, leafhoppers, bollworms, beetles
• Leaf miners and other foliage-feeding pests
